Celia's First "Meal"

How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
 who bring good tidings,
 who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
 “Your God reigns!”

Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices;
 together they shout for joy.
When the Lord returns to Zion,
they will see it with their own eyes.

Burst into songs of joy together,
 you ruins of Jerusalem,
for the Lord has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.

The Lord will lay bare his holy arm
in the sight of all the nations,
and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.

-Isaiah 52:7-10

Celia had her first meal today!  Praise God that the wait was SO much shorter than we ever thought it would be.  Doctors said there was a possibility that she would't be able to digest everything right away, so we should be on the look out for any vomiting.  God has indeed been gracious to us, and we are happy to report that she is doing very well taking in Pedialyte every 4 hours!

Celia does NOT like being unswaddled for assessment!  We found out that she is 4.68lbs today.

Celia receiving her second meal of Pedialyte.

Getting nice and chubby!

Try as she might, she can't fake sleep and has to open an eye to see who is talking to her.

Celia's nurse decided to reinforce her head with bean bags so that she would stay on the side she hates.    They have all sorts of neat tricks for caring for these little babies in the NICU!

Please continue to pray for this little one - that she is able to digest everything and move on to drinking milk!  We can't wait to have Julya and Alex take her home....we also can't wait to celebrate with a HUGE baby shower when she gets a little bigger :)!

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10
As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12
You will go out in joy
    and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
    will clap their hands.
13
Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
    for an everlasting sign,
    that will endure forever.”
- Isaiah 55: 9-13
