Celia's Journey (Blog Archive)

Thank you, Lord:

1. For 5 # 1 oz!

2. For the crib, beanies, mobile, mamaroo, halo, and monitor.  When Julya and Alex get home there will be much less of the luxuries because they will need to be conscious of SIDS. Celia will only be able to have a halo (wearable swaddle blanket). Please pray that Celia and her parents will be able to adjust to the changes they will encounter as they prepare to go home.  We are still unsure when this will be, but when it happens it will be a big change for the whole family.

3. For cute pajamas with ruffles!

4. For Julya's ability to care for Celia on her own.

(Sidenote: Notice the curtain in the background? That is a freshly replaced curtain after Celia decided that she wasn't quite finished moving her bowels while Aunt Alexa was in mid-diaper change mode.  Celia is so talented that she was able to aim for Alexa's hand, her sheets, and all over the curtain.  We are so GRATEFUL for her amazing ability and for the awesome laundry staff.)

5. For your beautiful creation!

6. For the bond between these two.

7. For family and generations. Great Grandma Andolino enjoyed her time with Celia tonight!

8. For that soothing pacifier.

9. For MORE weight!

10. For these hands.

11. For these lips.

Celia proved us wrong again.  Just when we thought she was plateauing, she drank 65 mL this morning (goal is typically 50 mL) with no issues.  Just to be on the safe side and still avoid the dreaded plateau, the doctors and nurses decided it would be best to have her goal volume reduced to 43 mL and she is receiving this every three hours.  Celia even impressed the speech pathologist today who came to assess her swallowing as she didn't show any symptoms of struggling while bottle feeding.  As the situation stands right now, the hospital staff have successfully manipulated the time and amount of her feedings to help Celia gain weight like she should be.  They have also switched her formula to one that she likes better (even thought it smells worse!).  Celia always seems to have her own plan!  The doctors commented on how they will come up with a plan for her and they will have to tweak for our little one who "has opinion!"

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.  As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance  and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.  He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. -Luke 17:11-16
