Bye-Bye TPN!! |
|
Another goal checked off!! |
We have GREAT news to share today! Celia has completed her
last TPN treatment as of early this evening. We were extremely thrilled to see this final brown bag of fluid make its way to the garbage can and be replaced with saline to keep the line clean, just in case. Tomorrow, if all goes well, they will remove the PIC line permanently - one less cord we have to be aware of when holding her!
This is a
huge deal to us, because now we no longer have to worry about Little C's liver and the damage that TPN can cause if used long-term. God is so good to us and has definitely blessed us with such speedy progress on one of our very first prayer requests for Celia's condition.
Please be in prayer that Celia is able to gain weight on milk alone so that we won't have return to artificial nutrients. Our final goal is now to get Celia up to drinking 6 bottles a day instead of intaking some of her milk from the feeding tube. We still do not have a clear timeline of when this will happen.
Thank you all SO much again for your prayers for Celia - you have all been a part of this miracle by approaching the Throne of God on her behalf. We know that God does not always answer our prayers the way that we want, but it has been so encouraging to see how everything we have asked for has been answered this far. His will has been to glorify Himself in her healing and we will always, always, always give the credit to HIM.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” - John 6:35-40
Just as Celia has been sustained physically by the ability to eat physical food, we are thankful for a God that saved us spiritually by offering us His son Jesus - the bread of spiritual, eternal life!
Praise the Lord!
